Conservation framing
Conservation framing is the process of using the highest quality materials designed to protect your art.

Each item is framed using professional techniques that keep all artwork in its original state, with the option of a complete reversal if desired or needed in the future. The general components of conservation framing consists of moulding, glazing, mats or spacers, hinging, and backing, consisting of all acid free and UV protection.

Moulding
Our store holds hundreds of frame samples for you to choose from. We can help you pick out just the right moulding to enhance your art and room. We also carry 'green' frames for those interested in helping the environment.

Glazing
Glazing is another word used for the glass or acrylic used inside your frame. Choose museum, reflection control, and clear glass, as well as plexi, all having 99% UV protection.

Mats
Our mat board is made from cotton fiber with no acids or lignin to damage the art. Matting has two main purposes, protection and cosmetic. The matting separates the glazing from the art so as they don't adhere to one another and cause damage. Matboards are also used to highlight color and accent your piece. Like mouldings, we have a vast selection, and a wonderful array of colors. When a mat is not used under glass, the proper conservation requires spacers, which are invisable acrylic strips that fit under the edge of the frame to hold the glass off of the art. When complete the finished product is beautiful.
